Action from this weekend's Trackrod Rally in the Yorkshire forests.
The rally started from Filey on Friday night and headed off into the world-famous and notorious Dalby stage which we tackled in the dark. As we went through the dark forest, small patches of mist were forming, making the visibility even more difficult
We successfully got through the daunting night stages and then started again early on Saturday morning .A full day of action in the very fast Yorkshire forests lay ahead. To add to the challenge, as we approached the start of stage 2 (Cropton) it began to rain, making the top surface very greasy and slippery.
We started at a very good pace in Cropton and took time off several cars around us. Throughout the day, the track conditions kept changing because of intermittent showers.
It was extremely challenging going from almost no grip to lots of grip from corner to corner but we maintained a good pace all day.
There were no major dramas and the car ran faultlessly all day thanks to the fantastic work by the RSR team.
Derek Davies did a great job on the notes and helped push our pace on all day so that we ended up with a fantastic result that we were not expecting in only our second outing in the car.
We came second in our class, fourth in category 2 and twenty first overall - not bad considering the quality of the field and our inexperience of the car!
