The latest round of the British Historic Rally Championship, the 2024 Tour of Epynt, was held over last Saturday and Sunday. The two-day event over the infamous high-speed roads on the military ranges of the Brecon Beacons saw heavy rain and fog on the Saturday, making the conditions treacherous. Sunday was dry and speeds over the narrow tarmac tracks dramatically increased.
Despite the challenging conditions, and a near miss with a flock of sheep crossing the road on special stage 7, the Harris & Co backed Mark 1 Ford Escort driven by Phil Harris came home safely with a class win and also a second overall in Category 2 (which is for all the 1969 to 1974 cars).
