Final preparations are underway for the Harris & Co backed 1963 Mini Cooper to tackle the tortuous twisting mountain tracks of the Tour de Corse Historique from 8 October to 13 October 2018.
“The car has been fully prepared by RSR Historic Engineering over the last few months, so it will be ready to take on the toughest challenge it has ever faced in the 42 years that I’ve owned it,” explained Phil.
“The team, my co driver and I have been studying the route for the last couple of weeks from the in car footage to get our pace notes right.”
“The stages are very long (over 40km each generally), up and over mountain ranges so it is going to be incredibly tough on the car and the crew.”
“I can see why none of the three factory Mini’s that last entered the event in 1967 finished the rally!”
“We are the only British crew tackling the event and the only Mini. It’ll be an amazing adventure and my aim is to try and get to the finish!”
