A very wet Dolgellau on Saturday saw the start of the Rally North Wales, the second round of the 2016 Mintex MSA BHRC.
The rally used the classic forest tracks in Dyfi which are famous for being fast with big, steep drops waiting for any driver who makes a mistake.
The stages were slippery from the torrential rain but we got quicker as the morning went on - on the 12 mile SS3 through Gartheiniog we even took a minute out of a 2 litre Escort and caught him at the end of the stage.
The afternoon was dramatic - we had a puncture in SS4 which slowed us.
Then on the final stage of the day, SS6, we'd done about 6 miles of it with only 3 to go and the car slid into a ditch! We narrowly missed falling down a very steep drop and the car got beached on a muddy bank. We thought it the rally was over, but a rally official gave us a tow out and we carried on with only pride dented.
Despite a difficult afternoon, we won our class and came third in Category 1.
That now makes it eight starts, eight finishes, eight class wins!
