Scalextric model of the Mini built!

Essex based slot car racer Keith Crow has had a Scalextric replica of the 1963 Harris & Co motorsport accountants Mini Cooper S built by leading Belfast model builder Stephen Morrissey.

Keith said, "I've been following Phil's progress in this year's Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship. It's the premier historic rally championship in the UK and Phil has had a brilliantly successful year."

"The car looks stunning and so I asked Phil if I could build a Scalextric replica to race . I hope I can go as well as the real thing!"

Phil commented "It's a brilliant idea and were delighted to help Keith with photos etc to enable him to build the replica. Keith also came up with a name for the Mini's fan club - YOOligans! It's a clear play on the number plate!"

"We've had an unbelievably successful debut season, far better than we could ever have expected after such a long lay off. We wish Keith similar success in his racing."

The Harris & Co motorsport accountants 1963 Mini Cooper S is next in action in September on the tough three day rally around the Isle of Man. It uses some of roads in the famous TT races so will be a real challenge
