Sunday saw the Riponion Rally, the opening round of the 2024 British Historic Rally Championship. The rally was based in Thirsk and used the fast flowing stages of the Dalby forest complex. The torrential overnight rain that continued into Sunday morning was preceeded by days of heavy rain. Melting snow water from the recent storms added to the already wet conditions. The forest tracks were very wet and slippery and the conditions were trecherous with floods and standing water everywhere.
In a very rare event for us, we suffered an oil pressure problem and retired the car. On to the next round in March!
