Fresh from a superb run last time out during the MSA British Historic Rally Red Kite Rally stages Phil Harris will be back in action driving the No #89 Harris & co-supported Mini Cooper during the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C Rally Championship with the Viking Motorsport/Links Electrical Mid Wales Stages on Sunday (1 March).
Phil and the Rob Smith Rally team have been working hard to prepare themselves for the challenges ahead.
Said Phil “Stage 1 has a long uphill start with lots of hairpins so this will be a challenge for the mini. I learnt last time out that I had to drive to the notes. That will be essential in Mid Wales, especially on the fast sections. I learnt that my co-driver Alan Walker’s timing on the notes was impeccable - he is a very fast driver and considering he's not familiar with my driving style or the power/braking of the car, his ability to know when to call the notes is astonishing. I am looking forward to the weekend but know that I have a huge challenge ahead of me. To make progress during each round is my personal goal and with the encouragement of Rob and Alan we are achieving our objective.”
