After an arduous 2023 season covering multiple events in Wales, Yorkshire and the Scottish Borders, Phil Harris secured a class win in the prestigious British Historic Rally Championship, the Premier League of historic rallying, in his first season of driving a 1971 Mark 1 Ford Escort.
On Saturday evening, Phil collected his trophy at the annual Championship awards ceremony in Chesterfield.
Phil said “I’m so thrilled to have won the Escort C3 class in the Championship in my very first attempt.”
“I’ve had multiple class wins in the past in my Mini Cooper but the Escort was a big step up this year.”
“I’ve had huge help from sponsors, my co-driver and RSR Historic Engineering who built the car and Quantex Motorsport who looked after it during the season.”
“Without their guidance, support and assistance, I would never have had such a successful season.”
